PD Marlow (in its current guise) started back in 2000, but the company's much older than that. Its founder took a plastering apprenticeship at the age of 16, formed his own business at the age of 20, and hasn't looked back since.
Originally, PD Marlow's skills were focused on more traditional methods of plastering: moulding and modelling with lime plaster in situ, restoration, etc. But as the company evolved, it seemed to naturally take a new direction: marmorino.
This change meant a much more creative approach - instead of relying on techniques that had been taught and acquired over the years, the company had to develop its own style.
We avoid lazily churning out formulaic finishes; each project is a challenge and we always try to keep things fresh and inspiring.
Today, architects and designers approach us with a look in mind, and we translate it into reality via colour and texture. It might take a few attempts and a lot of late nights in the workshop, but we get there eventually. We haven't been beaten yet!
